Wide Group acquires Assco Broker Srl

We are pleased to announce that Wide Group has acquired Assco Broker Srl (“Assco”), a Pordenone-based commercial broker with an agency subsidiary.

Assco was founded in 2018 through the combination of two regional insurance brokers, 2iT and VT Broker, and has grown, both organically and through further acquisitions, to become a leading player in Italian commercial insurance distribution, reaching over €35m in intermediated premiums. Assco benefits from a strong track record and extensive distribution network, with its component businesses operating since 1979, accruing highly diversified expertise across a range of business lines.

Assco was founded by Luca Scolaro and Nicola Celotti, who will join Wide Group as new senior partners, bringing a wealth of knowledge and broader depth in the origination network to the team. The acquisition will also strengthen Wide Group's presence in Treviso and north-eastern Italy and broaden its geographic footprint with a new operational headquarters in Udine.

Wide Group is the leading technology-led commercial broking consolidator in Italy and has exhibited a strong growth trajectory since Pollen Street’s investment in 2023. The acquisition of Assco is the 4th transaction completed since the investment and represents a strong step forward in its inorganic strategy, with continued momentum expected through the near-term pipeline of potential M&A targets.

Gianluca Melani, Co-founder & Managing Director of Wide Group, commented: "Our growth plan continues swiftly, and this operation follows shortly after the Anglo Lombarda deal. Our goal remains the same: to increase the technical expertise and operational capabilities of the Group, continuing to invest in competitive companies and technological development. We are pleased to welcome Assco, a company that shares our mission and market approach, and whose union will support a further acceleration of our journey."

Nicola Celotti, President of Assco Broker: "I am very pleased with this collaboration with Wide, with whom we share many affinities. Our paths are similar, focusing on skill development and the ability to place people at the center of our business. We are deeply convinced that this operation will create strong synergies that will help us build an increasingly advanced service and offering model."
